Title: Loch Fyne Food Fair
Post by: corrie on May 07, 2009, 07:44:27 PM
I'm off to a 2 day fair this weekend at the Oyster Bar on Loch Fyne. It's an upmarket food fair but has a craft element.
I've been setting up my table in my living room for the past week, I'm not quite there yet and waiting on some perspex risers to put my bottles on but you'll get the idea of how it will look.

Day one, awful weather :( The field was flooded, mud everywhere, even snow on the tops of the hills (in May!?:egad:)
However, it turned out to be a pretty good day, a very exciting lead for a new venture and another inviting me to their "quality" fair and a pretty decent amount of customers & money to boot ;D
Those in the know tell me Sunday is way better is terms of footfall and it's supposed to be kinder weather-wise. I sold all my shea tins bar 2, lots of saltire soap, no bottled goodies though ???
Gotta make some more butter tonight :mwaha:
Pics coming soon.........
(Cheers for the good vibes ladies)

That is a really fantastic stall and it would fit in really well with a really poshe fair because your stuff looks so classy and stylish.

Now, what are those totum thingies?  They are brilliant.  What are they for?  Were they for sale?

Those totems were for sale H, I really wanted one but resisted (I'll get one next time ;))
Day 2, much better weather & lots of Sunday drivers out for the day. A better day for sales for me, though some of the other crafters had a tough time barely covering their stall fees. Sold lots of soap today, I'm out of Saltire soaps, butters did surprisingly well again, some bath melts, bath salts a few gift sets etc. From those who stopped by I got good vibes on how my products look, they liked the odd named soaps, Whisky Galore, Highland Fling, 5 carrot gold....
I'm absolutely shattered now, it's hard standing behind a table for 2 days, smiling at everyone :mwaha:
A couple of outside shots taken today.
Bath & bed methinks...

The weatherman this morning seems to have a totem behind him, although it is a painted one, but he had a scottish accent so I thought he must have been reporting from the fayre  ;D
