Fresholi | Melting Pot Café

This is scheduled to run from 10am - 3pm

We'd all got set up - but the rain caime before the people did and it rained light to moderately until after 12!

Then there were sunny periods, so I could take the lids off my bath salts, (it's now a nice evening) and people drifted in but no great numbers (steam gala at Langollen railway with visiting engines).

Other stallholders wandered over to see where "the lovely smell" was coming from.

I did better than at the craft fair last month and the wood turner next to me said thet the first one is generally slow, the rain not helping either so I'm hoping for more sales next month - some local people took soap samples to try (apparently coffee scrub hasn't arrived in Ruthin).

There's a heck of a lot more space on a market stall than on the average craft fair table (should have had a 6.5 foot banner) and I'll make some large felt items for the shelves and take a couple more wooden boxes of soaps.

I'll bear your tip in mind about outside space being bigger.

I love how it stands out against that lovely stone backdrop.  I think the stall looks really uncluttered and inviting. Well done for selling what you did, particularly when the weather is against you.  Interesting how people were attracted to the aromas, so had a wander over to see what was what (I guess it is something you could really manipulate  ;)).  I reckon you should do a real marketing thingy with the coffee soap EJ if it is something new and novel.  Let's hope it just keeps getting better  :)

Not big as markets go Corrie - about 30 stalls.

It's not so much the length of the tabletop but it's at least a metre deep.

1 coffee soap sold H, together with a couple of Spiced Orange Bath Bunlets; then all the others bought Khayyam, Nos Da and Green Angel in soap, melts and salts (no eggs - must print out an "Eggs are not just for Easter" notice).

Khayyam (the rosy one) is favourite.

People were also intrigued by the felted soaps - they were Castille so perhaps I should felt some of the scented.

EJ, could you simply drop a few drops of EO onto the felt to scent them up, make them enticing.  You would probably have to put a note that the soap is actually unscented but it might stir some senses??

Well I could - but misrepresentation really, they'll probbly go eventually (someone was going to buy one for an elderly relative in Oz - but didn't come back).

Well the felted soap is going to Oz - the people came back today (they're going next month) and bought a felted soap and a felt pot of pot pourri for Gt Aunt's 100th birthday.

None of the melts melted - although the Chantilly on display was rather soft by packing up time at 3.00pm. No sun on the stall at all until past mid-day because of the tall building at the back of me and afterwards they were not in direct sun at all.

Not brilliant sales - but far better than last month.

Meant to say to you that we've taken the ferry from Holyhead quite a number of times and driven all the way down to North London - but driven though all the towns in your area and I have to say it's totally my favourite bit of the drive.  We've even thought of going to North Wales for a mini-hols at some point in time. 

You'll be going on the A5 then - the chippy in Corwen is under new ownership (chips no longer taste as though they've been fried in sump oil!) but the big car-park is now Pay & Display.

Sump oil? Yum... not! We will stay there at some point in time, it's such an amazing place ... reminds me very much of Ireland too. 

Glad they came back for your felted soap, how cool for it to be given to a 100 year old woman!
