Title: The name says it all Post by: Totoally Baffled! on January 25, 2009, 02:19:49 PM Hi Everyone,
As you can tell from my number of posts i'm very new here! I'm hopefully someday going to open my own internet soap making business. It's all very touch and go really as i am a very nervous person and so when i get some new information it takes me a long time to get to grips with it. I have turned to soap making as i have very sensitive skin and need to make the products for myself as well as to sell! Thanks to Elaine for introducing me to this forum and i'll talk to you all soon at some poit i'm sure. Title: Re: The name says it all Post by: EJ on January 25, 2009, 02:25:52 PM Hello TotB - you manged to find your way here.
As you make more posts then more boards will be open to you - there's a lot of information here and also on the main site (click on Resources up on the Nav Bar and log in there). And don't be frightened to ask questions - if you don't ask you don't find out! Title: Re: The name says it all Post by: sam1602 on January 25, 2009, 02:29:26 PM Hi Totb, a very warm welcome. ;D

Right now it is just a Hobby for me, but I am considering also opening up a website in the far future. All in good time. I wish you all the best with your on-line store. Title: Re: The name says it all Post by: Totoally Baffled! on January 31, 2009, 02:31:42 PM Hi Grace.
Thanks for your warm welcome. I am also thinking of setting up a website but it's really scary isnt it! I'm really stumped at the moment about advertising as i really cant afford to spend any money on it due to lack of funds! Title: Re: The name says it all Post by: sharon on February 01, 2009, 03:05:00 PM Hello and welcome! How long have you been making soap? It can be baffling at first but like everything, takes time and practice and you'll be less baffled day by day :mwaha:
Title: Re: The name says it all Post by: Grace on February 03, 2009, 04:52:27 AM Its about $600 (Cdn) to have a web-designer put up a site here. IMO the best place to start, is first with family and friends, then hit the craft shows.
I have search the UK web-sites and am blown away by the products. I think your market is more saturated than ours. I have yet to see any handmade products where I live. Title: Re: The name says it all Post by: Grace on February 03, 2009, 05:12:25 AM I was just thinking after my post. Have you looked into Etsy or Artfire. That may be more economical.
