Title: workshop and possible christmas fair in suffolk
Post by: mai on October 08, 2007, 01:21:51 AM
I'm hopefully going to be doing a couple of workshops in soap making and possible lotion making at Elvedon farm estates in Elvedon Suffolk, nr Thetford, I'm also hoping that the will host a Christmas Craft fair, but am just waiting to here back from them following a meeting I had with them last week.

I'm looking for any other crafters that may be interested in a table should we get the fair, and anyone else willing to do a workshop you will be paid for your time.

Ouch indeed!

Is it a fracture dislocation? Brachial artery involved?

it's a fracture dislocation, the artery isn't involved but he is having problems now with the nerve and circulation, although the registrar yesterday wasn't to worried, however his gp today is. he keeps losing feeling in 3 of his fingers.
He broke it in June, and has to wait until December at the earliest for them to operate it's a joke.

he has been off work since as he can't drive, and can't do his job, things are going to start getting tough for as soon when they put him on sick pay, yet it was an injury at work. he has filled in the form for industrial injury but been told today that it could take up to 4 months to decide meanwhile he goes on half pay. and as his is the only full wage coming in, while I get my business up and running, we are going to be struggling over the next few months.
that was probably tmi. lol

That's a beggar.

The brachial plexus is very vulnerable in this type of injury - the waiting time for the op is somewhat shocking to say the least - is the injury on his dominant side? If so pile on the pressure to get things done (local councillor, MP etc. - because Parties are gearing up for the runup to an election members like to be seen to be doing something positive).

Industrial injuries payment is something like compensation I suppose; i.e. the amount cannot be calculated until the residual effects of the injury can be determined - so until he's had the op and rehab they can't calculate the payment.

If he's with a racing or hunt stables there could be a society which can make a one off payment - if his work can be classed as agricultural then RABI might be able to help; CAB should know.

He works for the mod, we are having major issues with them in getting industrial injury pay, but then thats nothing new for the mod, they are not my favourite of people, long story, and not to do with oh.

cut long story short, was living with a solider in Germany, 4 years ago, he was killed 3 years ago, 2 months before we were due to get married. 1 week before his divorce became final and 1 day before they were going to evict his ex wife,
she got everything I got shut out completely. They treated me like a piece of dog shite they picked up on their shoe. even though i was the one living with him and about to marry him.

Thanks gals, yep have had a rough few years to say the last, but some things are improving just really need to promote the business now, few more wholesale accounts would be nice, once my soap certs come through, then I can go around the shops and see if anyone will stock them for me.

that is until if and when i get my own shop keeps dreaming,
