Title: hello
Post by: mai on October 06, 2007, 01:59:31 PM
Hi everyone, I'm Mai, I have been making lotions and potions body butters and balms, incense and aroma beads for a long while now, set up my business over a year ago, which is now just taking off.
Hoping to add cp soaps to the things I sell at the end of this Month, They are the last items I make that need to be certified.
Soaping seems to have taken over my life lol, am so addicted, Have made the soaps I want to sell, They are curing nicely on my shelves at the moment, and I'm just completing the info for my certificates before I send the info off.

I Love homemade bath and skincare products, much prefer knowing where the ingredients come from,   ::) and they are so much better than shop bought.

Hello Mai,

A big warm welcome from me  ;D

You sound like you live to create!!  I just had a look at your website and WOW!   :o  You do such a wonderful range.  I too make lotions and potions although not a lot of time lately what with Fresholi but I do get just as much of a thrill from everyone elses wonderful creations.  I have never made soap though.

Although today, I've got the really strong urge to make some.  I've been trying to get my mitts on some lye but am having a bit of a problem.  I'm thinking of things to do with M&P.  I'm going to pop out again in a bit on a second mission to find some lye.  I think I've finally crumbled under the pressure of everyone elses raves.  I want a piece of the action!!

I do hope you consider have a gallery, your range is beautiful and its wonderful to have you here  :)

Thank you, I will put up a gallery, when I have a few more minutes. In the meantime and if this is allowed, have a look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mai_inspirations/ That has most of the soaps I've been making on it. most are cold process,

you can get lye at any diy stores, home base has it, it's under caustic soda, drain cleaners in the plumbing sections.
Failing that order from "the SK",

forgot to add I'm a qualified aromatherapist as well, though I no longer can do massage due to the fact I have ms and it affects my arms.

Lovely to have a fellow therapist, there are a couple of others here too!  So sorry to hear about the MS but I'm sure you apply your knowledge in so many other ways  :)

Hi Mia,

Thanks for those lovely recipes!  Are you sure you want them public?  I can make them for registered members or 'Special' for author status if you prefer  :)

I am going to give the hand cream a go tomorrow if I get enough time.  Thanks again!!   ;)

I don't mid them being public, i've tweaked my recipe since then, so don't mind my old ones getting out. They work just as well,  I'm always playing with my lotion recipes
