Title: Swarovski crystals?
Post by: JGorse on December 03, 2008, 09:54:24 PM
I've got a cunning plan for doing something with Swarovski crystals (bicones 3mm & 4mm).  I've looked around at pretty much every beading place on the web until there's smoke coming out of my tiny brain.

Anybody know of a good, decently priced place for them?  Unfortunately the Brighton Bead Shop doesn't do them  :-\  The prices vary wildly from one site to another and it's really starting to get on my wick now.

Hi Akua!

Thanks - I've had a quick look at eBay, but there are so many other beading sites around I can't decide which to go for.  I need a mix of 3 & 4mm - 4mm are everywhere, but I'd like to be able to get both sizes from one place to avoid lots of different p&p.

I just found somewhere that does a mix of 100 x 4mm bicones which would be great but they don't do 3mm in anything.  Grrrr.  I can't decide on the thread to use either - so many different ones to choose from and my book just says 25mm nylon thread  :-\  Trust me to pick something that's not as simple as it looks first off!

Thanks Akua.

The thread thing is just baffling!  I saw one earlier that was a 49 thread waxed, super duper "wire".  No idea what you'd use it for so I've given up for tonight I think.

Thanks Akua.  I've looked at them, and their prices don't seem too bad.

Now what have you done to me... now all I want is Swarowski crystals! And maybe some half-precious stones... ouch, I want to make something with beads, I want I want... *struggling with myself*

I had a whole day today of talking/looking at & buying a couple  ::) of beads.  Didn't manage to make anything but the groundwork is getting there  ;D

Rats, my "couple" has been busted.

I was actually very well-behaved and only bought two strands of beads - one freshwater pearls (very good price at £3) and one is a mix of firepolish/AB crystals (£2.60 I think it was).  The bloomin' wire cost more than the beads  ::)
Oh, and a few grams of some really pretty bugle beads.
