Hello all,

I have had a request for shaving soap/cream for a male customer.  Up until recently he has been using commercial shaving products but is finding these are very drying.

Does anyone here make a (certified) soap/cream suitable for shaving and that is beneficial for dry skin?  The customer has asked that it be as natural as possible.  Thank you in advance!  :)

Does he want a stick or in a pot (soap)?

I think he is quite open to suggestion.  Something that is effective in the shaving department but helps to moisturise at the same time.  The usual shaving product is causing an awful lot of dryness.  :)

I've just checked with Jones (he has a "full set" but shaves round the neckline).

Despite being baldy with very fine hair he has a very thick, tough, wiry beard and says my soaps are fine, he just soaps over and rinses a couple of times (for some reason he's always found this necessary whatever he uses, softens the bristles I suppose) then uses his shaving brush on whatever bar is available.

I'll send a tub of Natural with honey and aloe vera after the postal strike.

Honey and aloe vera in 75 - 80gm hinged lid foodgrade plastic pot would be around £3.25 inc P&P 1st class Packet.

I'll make some over the weekend and check packed weight.

I've been busy doing a bit of research for an article/resource - my fingers are aching now with all the typing (and emailing in between)  :)

What's the new article then - I've just seen the tamanu one.

Well it is a tamanu one but its a bit of a closer look at it.  I've been very taken by it indeed!  If I get some time today, I'm going to do a bit of experimenting with it.  I really like it.  It smell's strongly but I am sort of getting hooked on it (at first I wasn't that taken with the aroma).  I have found some uses for it in my practice too.  I may try and develop some massage techniques that compliment its links.  ;)

(don't know where Jones' shaving brush has gone - but I found one of Child's mak-up brushes lurking in the bathroom  -  needed a wash anyway)

The brush was a bit soft but the soap foamed well.

For future reference I make a shaving soap, but I'm currently having my certificates processed for soaps. hopefully will have then in three weeks. All soaps will be on my website hopefully weekend after next for pre ordering.
My website designer is coming over Wednesday to give me the disc so i can update myself and to put the pages up so i can put the soaps and pics on.
