Title: Introducing Myself
Post by: Annies Goat Hill on November 05, 2008, 12:29:57 AM
Hello Everyone!

I make cold processed soaps...been my passion for a number of years.  Fell in love with hand crafted soap many moons ago (about 30 years ago).

I am always talking to people about my goats (untill their eyes glaze over), about other things that interest me, but never find anyone to chit chat with about soap or other hand made bath and beauty products.

I am hoping this is the place!  :D ;)

Hello Annie

You'll find a few soap and lotion/potion addicts here (and one or two who will demand pics at every opportunity - so be ready with some of your goats and soaps)

'allo and welcome!  I am rather fond of goats actually and wish I could keep some again, but I just don't have the time.  What breed do you have?

People here are lovely and willing to share advice and ideas.  Can't say enough about the place, really.  Great lot.

Enjoy your stay.

Hello Annie,

A warm welcome to the forum.  So now we have goats to join our kitties, guinea piggies, moo coo's, puppy dogs (have I missed anything??), oh yes and there are flying pigs a plenty (you will soon see what I mean about those  ;) :mwaha:).

It looks like your passion goes back some years and you sound like a total soapaholic (you will fit in nicely Annie  ;D).

Anyway, welcome again and I look forward to chatting with you around the forum  :buttrf:

Welcome Annie.
I love goats so pics are needed now. Would love to keep a goat but have no idea how to do that. Would love to keep chickens as well but don't know how to do that either.

Wow, what a warm welcome!

I keep boer on one side of the barn.  On the dairy side I keep mainly nubian with a few saanan and alpines.

You are already demanding pics?  ::) ;D

I can post a few...I need to learn my way around a bit.

Thank you,

Mary

Hello Mary
Welcome to the forum.
I'm also looking forward to pics of goats and soaps, I presume you use the milk for your soap?
We can get a bit daft here (most nights) but join in, we can be helpful too  ;)
Hope you'll stick around and join our gang.
Corrie

Hi Mary

Welcome & I hope you enjoy it here.
A goat person  :hap3: we were discussing goat products the other night in a truffle recipe thread, because I'm dairy intolerant but do ok with goat's milk etc.

Ooh, and any excuse for pics, and a natter about soaps - you're in the right place.  Not that we're remotely nosey you understand  ::)

Headbutting calves do an impressive job an all, esp when they get you underneath. Ouch. Glad I'm not a bloke though.  :mwaha:

When you are making a post look under the box where you're typing and there is Additional Options.

Click on that and you'll see Attach with a Browse button - that will open up an explorer window viewing folders on your hard drive - navigate to where your pics (suitably downsized) are and select one then click on Open.

The location of the pic will show up in the box next to Attach if you want to add another click on (more attachments) and repeat the procedure.

If your photo is on your website or flickr etc. the instructions are here (http://www.forum.fresholi.co.uk/index.php/topic,561.0.html)

Ah-ha...I got it...now I'll post a goat pic for you.

Haven't been here for a while.  I need a fellow soap person fix, or crafter fix...I should come here more often.   ;)

Lovely goat - Dad had one of those (can't remember the breed) from the girls in the tileshop when he retired from being a loader at the polystyrene factory (he'd decided he needed a light job in his later years).

The girls thought the world of him - ever since he'd heard the (male) charge hand swearing at one of them. He grabbed the man by the collar and told him that if he heard him using language like that to the ladies he'd take him oustside and sort him out.

Parents then went on to Anglo-nubian for many years.

I could never take to butter made from the cream though.

How many goats do you have?

Hi Mary!
I consider myself to keep goats, 2 goats, one partner and one child. Everytime I do the shopping they EAT everything I buyand then bleat on and on about there not being food around.
