Title: Pics from Ladies night
Post by: corrie on October 25, 2008, 02:57:01 PM
Despite foul weather I had 30 come last night. I'm feeling a bit jaded today (vino collaspso  :mwaha:)
Will have to add a couple to another post.

Went pretty well. I'm not in a rush to do another one, so much preparation having it in my own house. Happy to go to someone else's though  ;)
The first pics are ones I took today as the light wasnt good last night so there was much more soap before. I took £170, which was pretty good I think.

that looks great Corrie. Did you find that the ladies prefered one type of soap over the other? Artisan versus the other one?

You can do one at my house if you like. I'll do the wine and nibbles you do the soap.  :mwaha:

I just love to see all those lovely things all side by side, Mmmmmmm...........  just lovely  :buttrf:  Well done for taking £170.00 and no doubt, there will be more repeat sales not to mention all the word of mouth.  I bet it took some doing though C.  Brilliant, well done!!   :rspct:

It was definately a night of pretty soaps! Best sellers were Lady Lavender, Strawb & Cream, Bramble & Apple, Zebra. Also they seemed to like the more highly perfumed ones.
The naturally good (HP, with lovely oils, butters etc) didn't sell a single one.
My boxes didn't do well either, but I made up a few other boxes with soap of their choice and accessories. My tip, get some marble soap dishes - they sell!

I'm on my way  :mwaha:

It seems it was a really great way to gauge the market then C?  Without those hefty stall fees (although perhaps a little more hard work considering it was in your home).  Stunned though that you didn't sell any of the boxed ones, they are just gorgeous.  Any thoughts as to why?  They are clearly beautiful.

Maybe people weren't thinking about Xmas yet?! Most people were buying for themselves. The boxes are £16, I didn't think that was too high, there's a lot of work in them.

Keilly said that by just putting a slight hint of christmas on her stall at her last show made quite a difference and she sold mostly gift sets (I think she said).

This could have been a good opportunity to have asked the ladies if they would be interested in hosting a similar event (with some good incentives) - or maybe you did approach this?

Still, what you took on soapies alone is fantastic!!!

Quite right too.  I'm doing my very best to ignore it.  Bah humbug  :mwaha:

well done Corrie!  I'm not surprised you did well, everything looks lovely.

...and I agree, the gift boxes don't sound too expensive - just have faith, your customer will come along when the time is right.  It's still a bit early for Chrimbo, and don't underestimate the timing of pay-day on your event either.  Trade always increases in November, after this month's pay packet arrives. ;D
