Title: Feedback for swap
Post by: keillys on August 29, 2008, 05:55:06 PM
Well after a few weeks of waiting..the boxes are here!!
If you have not yet received your parcel and do not want to know what is inside do not read on!! Or you can if you can't wait!!
 ;D
There were nine people in the swap and what a bunch of gorgeous and L___ products there was!! From skin refreshing salt bars to gorgeous bath cookies and silky hair products to good enough to eat soaps and lovely lip balms to nourishing skin moisturisers and fab face masks...what a lovely box of treats it was!! Thank you everyone for joining in and making this lots of fun...it was like waiting for xmas!! Here is a photo of everything together and everyone has been asked if they could kindly provide feedback and a picture of an item in their box which Helen will put onto the main site! ;D

Do you mean take a pic of the product from the person you ticked?

Post by: Helen on August 29, 2008, 06:27:13 PM
Oh they are so lovely  :buttrf:  (ok, I fess up, I didn't try any of them really - this is the first preview I've had).  I hope you all enjoy your lovelies and I can't wait to hear the feedback.  I will be adding them to the main site in Members Reviews so as Keilly has already said, I will need a piccie to maintian the format and also, if your product maker (who's product you reviewed) has a website, would either you or the maker themselves pop your links on here too (just makes it a bit easier for me to remember who has which website etc....).  If you sell the product you sent, you could also let me know how much the product reviewed would be to buy.  It all helps those (visitors and fellow members) who may wish to buy the product/s.

So, to clarify, I just need:

A picture (of the product you are reviewing)
The review
Who made it (and any links)
A retail price (where applicable)

Hope that is ok with you all but I think it would help promote your businesses or (if you don't have a business) is get a bit of a personal boost :)

Well I decided to review Nadine's leave in conditioner as it has made a complete difference to our morning nightmare hair routine!!
I have a little girl aged 4 with wild, dry, very wavy and extremely prone to cotting hair - every morning is a complete nightmare to brush her hair as it has cotted so much through the night and she cries before I have even touched her with the brush!!
The first thing I noticed about Nadine's conditioner was the smell which is light, fresh and absolutely lovely! You only need the tiniest amount of conditioner (about a fingertip) to cover a whole head - it goes a long way!! I was able to brush her hair in half the amount of time as it leaves the hair so silky and the brush went through the hair so much more easier! I couldn't believe we have not had tears for a few days now!! Her hair then stays lovely and soft all day with silky waves in her hair which I love!!
I have already asked Nadine if this conditioner comes in bigger bottles as I am definately a big fan now!! I also love the packaging and labels -it looks so professional - I cannot find any fault with this product at all -overall I was extremely pleased and WILL be buying this again and have already reccomended it to people!! Thank you Nadine!!

I'd rather not have a pic of mine if that is ok, the packaging isn't the real packaging  ;D

My first thought when I saw Nadine's conditioner was my daughter's hair as well, and I can't wait to try it (and everything else of course  :buttrf:)

Thats great Keilly, thank you :o)  Sha, do you have a generic picture of a product that would be fitting?  Maybe??

I have a pic of the Skin Boosting Serum, not the mask yet though as it isn't on the website yet.

I think if you could supply a pic that kind of looks like the packaging (would be) for the mask (?) it would be fine  :)

Thanks for the rave review Keilly. It so nice to get positive feedback after all the hard work. ()

I've just had a bath and now I smell lovely- even the hubby said so. I'm so impressed with the soap and I feel inspired to start soaping again.

I know I've already done a review but just wanted to say I loved LLL's salt bar and ShaSha's face mask & serum & Purplesparkle's bath cookie!! Still got some other things to try yet!! And my other half loved Joy's soap....it also made the house smell great!! I can't bear to open Corrie's soap as the packaging is just tooo nice to use!! Tomorrow night I will be having a bath with Nadine's herbal teabag and will try Soheila's soap!! With face mask and will finish off with Sarah's cream!! We could open a shop with all these goodies :mwaha:

OK, so I get to review ShaSha's face mask, what about a pic of me with it on my face?  :mwaha: OK, I think not.  :o

I'll have a real proper look tomorrow gals, Ellen has had a good rummage though.  :(

Joy, that would be a fantastic idea!!!  Really.  Even just a sort of half-face pic or just a close up of the mask on the skin (just the mask??  Something like that??)

I am gonna be in so much trouble for posting that pic of E.  :mwaha: Not sure what colour the mask is but I think it was a pale terracotta pink so would go nice with E's strawberry blonde hair.

Your daughter has the most beautiful hair, I am so envious!

I am so so very pleased with all the gorgeous products, I find it very hard to leave them alone. I got them on my desk right next to me, and keep picking up various things and trying them, and how am I ever supposed to get any work done?

Ooh so glad they're arriving! Mine isn't here yet, will be something to look forward to after my busy weekend!

I'm glad you like the cookie keilly, that's my favourite to make.. am a bit nervous about the soaps though!

Sorry, I was actually trying to think of a serious way of review SS's mask without photoing the product. I'll get E to wear it and I'll be David Bailey.
Sorry! I am embarrassed about the packaging  :-[ You can take a pic of the contents, I might have a go and see how it turns out. ;D

okeydokey

I have the great pleasure of reviewing the Lavender and Geranium Nourishing Moisturiser for Face and Body, hand blended by Mad about Nature.

First thing is of course the visual impact – the moisturiser came in a cute little glass jar with a silver lid, in the dinkiest little white organza drawstring bag. Very beautifully presented and a real treat for the eyes.

I was quite excited when I read the name of the moisturiser, as those EOs are two of my all time favourites. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed when I opened the jar, the scent was just gorgeous, with the geranium being the more obvious and immediately recognisable fragrance. The moisturiser looked more like a balm when I first opened the jar, and I thought that it might just a little bit heavy, but nothing could be further from the truth. When I put it on my hands, it sank in immediately, I really mean instantly, no feeling of tackiness, dragging or greasiness, it left just velvety smooth and beautifully scented skin. I adore it! I am totally convinced that anybody trying this fabulous moisturiser would instantly fall in love with it as well. I have put it on quite a few times now, and am delighted to report that my skin stayed velvety smooth for hours. The scent also lingers well, which is definitely a bonus, as it is such a delicious combination of Eos.

Can you tell that I quite like it, lol?

Oh my gosh....thank you soooo much for that lovely review!! ()
I am so pleased you liked it (let me know when you run out ;D)
It makes such a big difference when you get good reports to things you have made and spent alot of time and energy trying to perfect! You have put a smile on my face all day now - thank you! ;)
ps - I would be more than happy to swap your salt bars for moisturiser in the future - I absolutely adore your soap!! :buttrf:

Ooohh yes isn't LLL's soap amazing!
Which is what I happen to be reviewing ;)

I love the look of it (Helen, Joy, anyone got a pic? :-[) and it smells pepperminty fresh.

The instructions were clear and very helpful for a salt-bar virgin like myself.

The label is exquisite and after reading the instructions, seeing the packaging and then the soap itself my anticipation was high.

I decided to try it first on my face. I usually use either my own cleansing balm or clay mixture so a soap was really going to be a test.
It lathered up  as I turned it over and over so I had lots of frothy lather to apply to my face.
It cleansed my face well, rinsed off completely and didn't leave it too tight. I then tried it in the bath for all over washing and it was again lovely. It felt very luxurious and the peppermint was just right-not too strong (I get headaches when I use too much peppermint!)
I love the pretty colour, rought but elegant texture, hardness of the bar, shape and of course the gorgeous lather. Overall I love it and will be fighting keilly for some more ;)

Thank you so much for that glowing review, ShaSha. I am always a bit nervous when people try out my products for the first time, especially people who make gorgeous b&b stuff themselves, nail biting times, lol. It is so encouraging and confidence boosting when somebody says such lovely things.  ().

I am always a bit nervous when people try out my products for the first time,
I know the feeling LLL!  ;D
I've just reread my review and realised it doesn't really portray just how gorgeous, luxurious and desirable the soap is. Sorry, I was distracted by the phone twice at the time!  ::)
The truth is, I absolutely love it  :mwaha:
The anticipation I felt before using it the first time is what I still feel now every time I go to use it, and I am never disappointed! My daughter also loves it and has used it on her eczema without any problems at all :buttrf:
Thank you LLL for such a wonderful soap creation, you must feel very proud  ()

Tehehehe, now I have to put my DH on work duty for the whole the weekend - he will need to widen all the doorways, so that I can still get through with the big head you have given me now! Ya reckon I should carry on making them then???   :whist:

I am so glad that your daughter can use it on her eczema, thats great news.

I have the great joy of feedbacking the Chunky Monkey made by Joy. I had a little helper, too! He loves to sniff stuff, I wonder where he's learned that  ;D

So, here we have the lovely soap in it's lovely package. The cow logo is absolutely charming! The sellofane lets us see how luxurious the soap looks with it's shiny top. (The red thing under the soap is just the decoration of the photographer)

Must open to see that shiny top better!

Must sniff. Smells lovely fruity!

"The good thing about this smell is that boys can like it, too."

Boys can like it very much actually and almost stick the soap into their nose to have a deeper sniff experience.

Let's see how it lathers and does it's job.
Lathers nicely, cleans well and doesn't make skin dry!

We very much approve and appreciate.

Not called Houdini for nothing ya know ShaSha.

Anyway, this morning I finally managed 1/2 hour of peace and quiet to test Sha Sha's Revival Facemask. All I can say is WOW. I mixed it up with some warm water to make a medium thick paste, applied it to my face using a rubbing action in a circular motion rather than back and forth and then left it on whilst I had a nice bath. As it started to dry I could feel my face tightening up. I then rinsed it off  and patted my skin dry. My face felt lovely, sort of firm and very soft and smooth and I didn't even have to use a moisturizer and that's unheard of.

It is also a beautiful antique pink colour and smells just gorgeous. Would use it again without hesitation. Lovely.

And I know ShaSha doesn't like her packaging but I do, it fits the product.

Sorry this review is way overdue. :::hide::

This review is for Sarah's Orchid Lustre Eye Cream. This eye cream is fab! You only need a tiny amount and it is easily absorbed by the skin. I've been using this on my face too as it goes so far - this jar will last quite a while. It is packed with loads of botanical extracts and fragrance free so it's gentle on the delicate eye area.  Well done Sarah!

Sorry my pic is out of focus. Does anyone have a better one?

I have an apology to make to ShaSha. I didn't realise that the facial serum was also hers. Doh!

Anyway, I have been using it over the past few days and my first thoughts were that it was a bit oily, how wrong I was. It goes on and very is very quickly absorbed by my skin, thirsty little beggar she is. My skin feels nice and soft, not at all greasy and I must say it smells gorgeous. I can't put a name to the smell, lavender, geranium maybe but either way it is a beautiful product. Well done ShaSha. 11/10 :mwaha:
