Just came across this board and it looks FAB! Always wanted to make hand made products such as soaps, bath salts etc. I had a go at making some soap, but I don't think it came out that well. Can anyone recommend a good book which covers all the basics and tells you about the legal side of things? I've looked at a course which is £155 and it's home study. any thoughts? There's lots of information around on this forum and on the Main site (you need to log in there separately) so take a good look and ask questions here before you decide on the course - sorry there isn't a FAQ for the Forum (nobody's had time to compile one!!). I started making soap in January & my recommendation is to read, read & read some more. It makes it easier once you actually start. Welcome & I hope you enjoy it here. There are lots of very talented & knowledgeable people here who are only to glad too help out so ask away and they'll be sure to give you a hand. A big welcome to you. Don't worry about little oopsies with your products, they are the best lessons you could ever have. Jojo has written a few very funny poems about the odd little hiccups with her 'croaps' (guess how that name came about ;D).
