Title: candle / wax melts help
Post by: greenabubs on February 19, 2014, 10:09:37 AM
I am making some gifts for my friend :)  :buttrf:

Which is easiest candles or wax melts? going to be following the tutorials on here. I was wondering should i steer clear of EO all together as she is pregnant. I could use FO instead.

Then I want to make them red is this suitable?

Wax melts are easier. You don't have to fight to get a wax straight and in the middle. You would need to get the correct wax so that they will come out of whatever mould you are using. You need to take care with the wax being heated to the correct temperature. Do you have a thermometer?

I don't think there is a problem with EOs in the wax melts. She is not putting them on her body. If you want to colour them, make sure you get wax which will hold the colour not all of it will.
