Title: Hello from a soap virgin... Post by: Duke on November 01, 2013, 07:12:46 PM ...Virgin as in not yet made any--I do use it daily though ;D
I have bought a wee book which got good reviews on Amazon and although I have yet to make my first batch (do you say "batch"?) i am very keen. this forum was recommended in the book so, as my head is already full and overflowing with questions, I thought I'd join some likeminded people. So, Hi there!!! Title: Re: Hello from a soap virgin... Post by: EJ on November 01, 2013, 07:19:51 PM Hello Duke, welcome to the helpful forum.

Post by: Happy Hippo on November 01, 2013, 07:44:07 PM Welcome Duke, I am also a relative newbie to the forum but have been with my darling Samantha as co partner in her (now our) business for a while now and she has shown me the ropes in all aspects of making soaps/body balms and other things.. Including pip and pif forms :-\
My first ever batch wasn't as scary as I thought it would be and I look forward to every batch we create. Hope you enjoy the forum :) Title: Re: Hello from a soap virgin... Post by: Helen on November 01, 2013, 07:49:40 PM Hi Duke, a warm welcome to the forum.
I am sure that once you have created your first soapie, you'll be eager to try another and another and another. We need pics of your soaps though, that is a very important ;) I hope you enjoy it here :buttrf: Title: Re: Hello from a soap virgin... The book is Make Your Own Soap by Joy James. My plan is to order all the ingredients I need for my first batch online this week and buy all the equipment I need. As soon as I have ammassed all the stuff I need I shall be ready to go. I'm hoping to make the vanilla and star anise soap recipie from the book if I can source all the ingredients without too much trouble. I'm quite excited about it all! I am now actually buying my first ingerdients for my first batch of soap!!! Just trying to find a good online source. Not necessarily the cheapest - but one of the best: http://www.fresholi.co.uk/ (http://www.fresholi.co.uk/) (use the same login as you do for the forum) Title: Re: Hello from a soap virgin...
