Title: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Safi on July 01, 2013, 09:56:43 AM Hello everyone!
I am currently experimenting with making my own skin care creams, this all started with my teenage daughters acne getting worse. I'm happy to say it has vastly improved with the cream I made & this has really helped boost her confidence! :D ( sulky teenager finally coming out of her shell) I'm hoping to sell this to the public at some stage. I would very much appreciate any help support offered & would love to hear how you guys got started. X Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Eva on July 01, 2013, 09:58:45 AM Hi Safi and welcome!
Another "creamer here". ;D Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: EJ on July 01, 2013, 01:57:15 PM Welcome Safi - congratulations on sorting the teenage problem.
The EU regs re cosmetics are changing in a few days and at first glance seem really complex; stick with this group, make more posts then you'll see some more boards. An extremely helpful Safety Asessor posts here. Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Helen on July 01, 2013, 02:10:42 PM Hi Safi,
A warm welcome to the forum. How wonderful that you are able to help your daughter :) As EJ said, keep posting and more boards will open up to you. Also, have a look around the forum as many of your questions may have already been discussed :buttrf: :buttrf: Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Safi on July 01, 2013, 02:33:18 PM Thank you ladies for the warm welcome & for the suggestion, I will definitely be posting often. I'm currently using the Internet & books I purchased for my research. I think I'm going to really enjoy being a part of this forum & learning loads ;) X

Welcome. I've not been here too long but the forum is really friendly and helpful. :) Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: andoy on July 01, 2013, 04:07:33 PM hello and welcome from me... I had very spotty skin, even into my mid thirties... I could have probably collected enough oil from my face in a week to make a guest bar of soap. If I knew back then what I know now :clueless:
Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Lindy on July 01, 2013, 04:38:39 PM Hello & welcome Safi. Another 'creamer' here although I'm a soaper too. Congrats on creating a formula that works for your daughter.

Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Safi on July 02, 2013, 11:15:21 AM Thanks guys, Oh my goodness what yummy delights on here & soooo much information, my head may just explode!
So looking forward to more reading & getting to know you all. X Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Tanya on July 02, 2013, 11:32:32 AM Hi Saffi!
You are very welcome here. Yes, there is a tonne of info here! Better than any book I ever bought! Also the info here is correct which is one of the major issues in some books out there. Having our own soaping chemist is a bonus here for sure. You must be so proud of yourself for making a cream that helped your daughter! She also must be thrilled too. Like your avatar by the way ;D Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Safi on July 02, 2013, 11:56:01 AM Hi Tanya,
Thank you! I'm really enjoying myself at the moment & what a relief to finally find a source of info you can rely on. My daughter is very happy, her skin has almost completely cleared. Her acne had got so bad & she had so many black heads! A face mask I made turned out to be a great black head remover! ( happy accident). Her friends have noticed her skin clearing up & she is a happy bunny at the moment. Silly question but what is the Avatar? Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Hayley on July 02, 2013, 02:48:54 PM Hi Safi
Nice to meet you. I am so pleased that your formulations are working so well. I find that a clay mask helps when I have a break out (something I learnt as a newbie here!) I am pretty sure avatar means your picture you have uploaded to your profile. Have fun :buttrf: edited to amend my dodgy spelling! Like your avatar by the way ;D Thank you Tanya, There is still so much to learn & get my head around the terminology. I don't even know where to begin with SA so will be picking many brains on here. I'm just relieved for my daughter, something that is helping her, there was a point where she didn't want to leave the house. Thanks for liking my Avatar (my eye) ;D xx Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Safi on July 02, 2013, 06:15:57 PM Oops! I'm answering the same people twice! Lol will soon get the hang hopefully
Title: Re: Newbie say's Hello Post by: Safi on July 02, 2013, 06:24:12 PM Hi Hayley,
