Title: Insurance! Post by: Janie-aka-Selkie on January 27, 2013, 03:11:43 PM Ok so I have my B&B insurance with IW, and have just emailed about getting my candles added to it, was just wondering if any of you knew how much extra my premium will be so I can brace myself and start scuttling about under the sofa for lost coins :-\ Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: alishelly on January 27, 2013, 03:58:11 PM There shouldn't be any extra cost Janie, they just added it onto my insurance when I started selling candles :)
Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: Janie-aka-Selkie on January 27, 2013, 04:10:06 PM ooh well that's good! Apart from the insurance are there any other legal things I need to do, cos I don't want to break any laws, making them is ok cos I've had loads of practice so that's not an issue, just am getting conflicting advice on current regs!! Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: Alphya on January 27, 2013, 04:30:44 PM Do you pay by DD? I've found it a lot easier than having to renew every January ;D
Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: Janie-aka-Selkie on January 27, 2013, 05:05:59 PM yup, most things in my life are DD cos I'm so forgetful nothing would ever get paid otherwise :mwaha: Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: Alphya on January 27, 2013, 06:14:34 PM Same reason as me ;D
Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: alishelly on January 27, 2013, 06:27:34 PM I contacted TS for advice when I started selling, they advised me that so long as you put the regular warnings on each candle then you are ok as you are giving the consumer all the information they need to burn them safely (she pointed out that they probably wouldn't read them anyway !!)
So if you were doing a glass container you could put your label on the bottom, my candles are in tins with a label that goes all the way around so all the info is on the back. I assume it would be the same for you north of the border ? hth Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: Janie-aka-Selkie on January 29, 2013, 10:19:57 AM Ah cool, well I have sorted out labels for the candles so if those plus the insurance are all that's needed then when I hear from IW that they've sorted my policy I guess I can stop cluttering up my house with candles and start selling them! ;D Title: Re: Insurance! Post by: Janie-aka-Selkie on January 29, 2013, 04:40:30 PM woohoo I'm legal!! :hap2: I can now start inflicting my candles on the general public ;D Title: Re: Insurance!
