Title: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 17, 2008, 08:13:28 PM Just thought I'd let you know I now have clove, black pepper (which has been talked about a fair bit lately) and tea tree in stock. They are not on the site yet (probably the weekend) but I thought I just keep you informed ;D

Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Joy on April 17, 2008, 09:07:18 PM Is the clove one any good for putting on toothache or does that need to be something else with cloves in?
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 17, 2008, 09:12:37 PM Clove is indeed very good for toothache (complete with a bit of lip pluming action :mwaha:) its an old fashioned remedy that is still used today
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Joy on April 17, 2008, 09:15:26 PM I know I've used it before but wasn't sure if it was the pure essential oil or something else. It's been years since I used it and didn't take a lot of notice of what it was exactly I was using but I did know that it was cloves. Cool I might get some.
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 17, 2008, 09:16:39 PM Gives a nice note to a rosey blend too ;)
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Joy on April 17, 2008, 09:19:47 PM Funnily enough H, I do a soap that is rose and spice and I think the spice has cloves in it. Gives it depth. Yuuuuuuummmmm
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 17, 2008, 09:23:12 PM I did a soap with geranium, palmarose and clove (thanks Sal) and it was a lovely rose scent
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Joy on April 17, 2008, 09:25:29 PM I love geranium eo. It sticks like glue in soap. I made a batch, in fact the second batch I ever made and it's still as strong as it ever was and has lasted and lasted and lasted. Will try Sals recipe.
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 17, 2008, 09:37:29 PM It does stick doesn't it ;D
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Joy on April 17, 2008, 09:39:04 PM My friend Louise adores it. Will make her a batch for her birthday. Mind you she's still using the bit I gave her over 6 months ago.
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 19, 2008, 04:53:16 PM All 3 oils (black pepper, clove, tea tree) are now up in the shop on the main site!! I've also written some profiles for them to add to the others in resources 'Essential Oils & Their Uses' (reg members) Yipee :yipee:
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Suzanne on April 21, 2008, 08:41:39 PM Do you ever get in sandalwood?
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Helen on April 21, 2008, 08:43:07 PM All in the plan Suzanne - it is a slow process building the inventory, but I'm getting there ;)
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Suzanne on April 22, 2008, 05:20:19 PM Good. It is probably my favourite scent of all, and reminds me of India. I came across Australian sandalwood on the Ancient Wisdom website, but they can't tell me if they smell the same. I am assuming not, but do you know? :pot:
Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: andykim on April 22, 2008, 05:36:36 PM The best Sandalwood comes from India where it is protected by the State.
The Sandalwood from Australia is an inferior oil and the one from the West Indies is totally unrelated and has no therapeutic properties and yes there is a difference in the smell. I adore Sandalwood but it has become very expensive. I use it in many products as it is good for coughs and sore throats and lovely for many skin conditions. It is also a manly oil (Men do not mind the smell). Please put it on you 10 year plan Helen. sorry its an expression that we use in our household when any thing needs repairing or decorating needs to be done OH always says its on his 10 year plan. ::) Kim Title: Re: 3 New Essential Oils Post by: Suzanne on April 22, 2008, 06:49:15 PM Thanks CL. You are right it is expensive, but I am hopelessly addicted!
