The colour is much more restful on the eyes - white can be a little harsh at times (i.e. when it's late at night and I should be tucked up in bed, lol).

Like the added features on the left too....will be great for catching up on unread posts.

Thank you Sal but its really down to Kes (all I did was nag at him  :mwaha:).  I know what you mean about more restful on the eyes but it will take some getting used to I think, bits & bobs being in different places and the like  :)

Green is - but not this green it's just too much I'm afraid.

I can't read the posts comfortably at all it's too bright and there's too much of it.

I logged on, went away, came back and my world had turned green!  I though I was hallucinating.  I am not sure whether I like it or not yet, but then I am not really a fan of green.  

Yikes!  where's me sunglasses!  Reminds me of the avocado soap I made  :mwaha:  I need the change it button too, where is it??
Apart from the colour, change is good!

I've given it a while but way too much green (and it is my fav colour)

One good thing I've noticed is that the buttons above the smilies now tell you what they are for! I had no idea about most of them.

I don't know if it is my screen (as it tends to be quite bright and have a bluish tinge) but I think the colour is great. Tell Kes he has a fan (and I don't particularly like green either but I love the changes)  :mwaha: I think it is great that people who can't cope with it can change the theme as well, good thinking! ;)

Helen, the site looks lovely.   Thanks to you and to Kes for all of the work you do to provide this site for us to use and enjoy.  It's a wonderful forum and a fabulous resource, and I feel lucky to be able to participate here.

Kes and I were a bit perplexed about the negativity so Kes said that most of you are probably using a PC and the new look is fine on a laptop (once you've spent some time in it) so Kes thought we should look at it on the PC.  It looks very different on there.  Oh well....  Kes is going to change it back to what it was  :(  Sorry to all that did like it

I seriously think that if you like it Helen you should keep it! It is your forum and you shouldn't feel bullied or the need to apologize for making changes on your forum. I think some of the comments are a bit over the top especially as you said people could change it in their profiles so I can't see what the problem is and I hope you are ok.  (:hug:)

Oh.. where did it go?  I really liked it green...  kinda soothing to mine eyes.... :(  oh well... it's gone....

No worries Sharon, its absolutely fine.  In fact when we looked on the PC, it was VERY different to what we could see on the laptop.  I don't feel bullied at all  :)  This has always been member-led and I invite criticism as it is this that fuels development.  So no worries and thank you all for your honest opinions  (:hug:)  We'll continue to work on this (just as soon as Kes recovers from spending hours doing that one.  Well, it keeps him out of trouble  :mwaha:)

I am glad you are ok Helen. I know it is a member-led forum but at the end of the day the forum it is part of your Fresholi brand and reputation :)

good for you Helen, I think bullied is rather a strong word to use in this instance  ;)  Its not our forum to change its theirs but as Helen says she wants it member-led so input is welcomed!

Maybe a poll would be good Helen, much fairer  :pot:

Helen/ Kes - I too liked the change but also liked the idea that individual members could change it if preferred.

Just want to also say that Kes has been a fantastic help to me this week in sorting out my website development woes - how you had the time to look at my html/ CSS writings as well as developing Fresholi I don't know!!!  :hap3:

I was honest, I really didn't like it. I love this forum the way it is, its why I spend so much of my spare time here!
The fact that the background is pale makes it easy for me to read, the green didn't, but obviously if I could have changed the colour I would have.

before it was taken down, I had the chance to look at the new user profile stuff.  Can't you default it to the usual look for everyone, and then those of us that liked the 'Hulk' look can go in and change our personal settings?  I was using a PC when the change happened and I agree that it was quite green, but no doubt that can be toned down in due course.  I'm now using my laptop, so would like to give you feedback on how it looks.  The new features and look were great!

Anyway, wouldn't this keep everyone happy?

(and a big thank you for all of the work you do in making this forum so user-friendly - I'm sure the new look took you ages!)

Kes is looking into it (he has also just said that some browsers may have been clicking (I think the term was - probably wasn't  :D) to the nearest web colour which would have looked different to the original that was on mine and kes's screen).

I've just been off to eat and am now on the laptop, I'd set the brightness down to 20% before firing up FFox - but had a pleasant surprise.

I hadn't set any themes from my profile - the cream background is set in FF (doesn't work on all sites but it's easer on the eyes than white).

I've just been to look in profile - if you want those greens you can select the theme - it's the bottom one (no indication that it's going to be green until you try "Preview".

It is softer on the laptop (with brightness turned back up) but still lots of green.

A girl goes off for a few hours and look what happens!  I don't mind either (just had a look at the green one), but I did find even on a laptop that that particular green was quite bright.
