Title: Wax melts colour problem Post by: kathrynmc on September 14, 2011, 11:04:10 AM Hi, I made some coloured wax melts last night for the first time. I used a silicone mould from Ikea, when I came to take them out of the mould this morning, the part that has been in contact with the mould is a different colour to the bottom. I am not sure what has happened, the mould I have used before but without colour and have washed it several times in the dishwasher and used bicarb on it because it smelled of a different fragrance.

Eire Title: Re: Wax melts colour problem Post by: kathrynmc on September 14, 2011, 02:29:32 PM For these ones I ended up using a combination of soy pillar wax and the soy wax I bought from 4 candles (I ran out of the pillar wax so made up the rest in the new soy wax that I had just bought).
I have just made some more coloured ones with the soy wax from 4 candles in my silicone cupcake cases and they have turned out ok. I think it might be the mould. Shell Title: Re: Wax melts colour problem Post by: retropants on September 14, 2011, 06:15:48 PM I don't DW mine, they warp too easily....I always scrub with a brush in hot soapy water and leave to air dry.

Think I will leave it to soak and try scrubing it with a brush. Kathryn |
