Title: Newbie From UK
Post by: LQT on September 07, 2011, 02:50:07 PM
Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and glad I have found one based in the UK as most are USA based (nothing wrong with that), just makes things a little difficult at times, especially when looking for certain products.

I make basic products for myself and friends but want to up the anti so to speak (only a little) and begin making lotions.

Ideally, I'd like to start a cut little etsy shop/my own website ...  and my research brought me here so hopefully you'll see me around a lot more

Looking forward to learning, sharing and contributing

Em :)

Hello and welcome.

Do you mind if we call you LQT? - 'cos we have an Em already.

If you read through artemesia'a intro thread you'll see lot's of advice on starting up and selling (when you've made more posts you'll be able to see a board about legal stuff).

Lots of info dotted around.

Hi Em (LQT),

A warm welcome to the forum.  It sounds like you have been having lots of research and had lots of fun while you having been learning.  What sort of products have you been making up to now?

I hope you enjoy it here.  The members are really nice and there's already been a lot of discussions that you may find really useful around the forum  :buttrf:

Hi Helen,

Thanks for the warm welcome, yes I've done quite a bit of research. Ive been making my own basic products for years now..mainly   different butters for my hair (I have afro textured hair) and for my skin and lip balms. I would like to take it to the next level now ..though and start making lotions. Ive put of doing so for a while due to needing preservatives and so forth ... as Ideally I wanted to make 100% natural products but its safer to have a 98% approx natural and just preserve.

I would also love to make natural products for afro textured hair but I need to do one thing at a time  :mwaha:

I really love the different CP soaps that some members here make, but I think I will start with MP soaps  :mwaha:

Welcome LQT, Lotion making is the hot topic around here lately, you should get lots of info, it is very friendly, don't be afraid to ask anything, no matter how silly it sound, we've all asked the same questions at some time or other and still do, all the time  :mwaha:
