Title: Hi i am new Post by: andykim on February 07, 2008, 05:23:10 PM Hello I am new to the forum. Have submitted a recipe and a query but have not introduced myself properly.
Hope I am in the right place. I have been married for 28 years and have 2 grown up children a grand daughter who is 8 going on 18 She has lived with me since she was 6 mths old as my daughter had a car accident & was unable to care for her. I have been a child minder for 26 years and have been making creams, soap etc for family for quite some while, but have now decided it is time for a change of life as I am going through the change of life (hot flushes the lot) so am going to have a bash at selling them to all those people that have pestered me for freebies. I keep 13 chickens(& am known locally as The chicken lady) and they are the love of my life after my family. . My neighbors laugh at me when I go up with their tea (marmite on toast, but it gives them the extra Vitamin B). So you can see what sort of person I am. I love to make bread and love to do gardening, but the chickens have dug up most of my plants now. I am just in the process of contacting David with regard to assessments. He is so helpful. Must go now and do some tea for the kids & chickens. Luv to read about all your antics, glad I am not alone out here. Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: lululiz on February 07, 2008, 05:44:55 PM Hi! I am also very new to this board ( although not to soapmaking etc ), but I already feel very much at home here. They are a very welcoming bunch of people. I am sure you will love it here just as much as me.

I love to make bread and love to do gardening, but the chickens have dug up most of my plants now. I bought a breadmaker few months ago and now no one will eat supermarket bread....good job all I have to do is push a button! ;D Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: KarenS on February 07, 2008, 06:16:36 PM Hi Chicken Lady, I can't call you that :-\ whats your real name??
With all the new people coming on the site I feel like an oldie even though I've only been here since Christmas I think. Karen Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: andykim on February 07, 2008, 06:47:24 PM Hi I don't mind being called Chicken Lady but my real name is Kim.

Hope it all goes well, I must say this particular forum is so addictive and also great fun.Its funny you are the Chicken Lady - I get called ' the Dog Lady' as I am a groomer, which is bad enough but several of my customers just call me 'Mrs Mutley' :mwaha:
Cant wait to see how your new venture goes :) Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: andykim on February 12, 2008, 11:18:10 AM Thank you to everyone for such a nice welcome. I have been away for the weekend in my motor home (I am secretary & rally officer for the motorcaravanners' club) so have only just read all the messages.
Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: JANE on February 12, 2008, 02:52:31 PM Ey up chicken Lady!! Welcome to the forum. I also have chickens. I do love them but they have stopped laying eggs and I am somewhat moody with them. :). Perhaps I should try marmite as well then, I know they love Cheerios and always get my lil' ones dregs from breakfast. How many eggs do you get per day? I can assure you it's more than mine are prepared to give me!!
I hope you love it on here like I do. I have learned so much. Good luck with the assessments hun. xx Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: andykim on February 12, 2008, 03:05:40 PM I used to get 1 egg a day from each of my girls (I have 13 now), but since their moult in September my older ones, who are 2 yrs old now don't not always lay. I am getting about 8-10 eggs a day. My grand daughter sells them for pocket money.
Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: Joy on February 12, 2008, 05:10:36 PM Hello Chicken
Hrmmmm, first of all welcome to the nut house. Corrie lies dreadfully and don't ever believe a word she says. I am an angel and I live on a farm. I would love to keep chickens and might pick your brains about keeping a couple. I too have a grandaughter 3 going on 13. Just like her mother was :mwaha: Title: Re: Hi i am new Post by: EJ on February 12, 2008, 05:46:39 PM (hi-jacking thread)
