Title: Hello everyone Post by: farmerswife on June 02, 2011, 11:05:34 PM Hi, I'm a new soapmaker (cp) from the Isle of Arran (just off the Scottish Mainland). I used to be a primary school teacher but have now started making soap and other stuff and selling it round craft fairs/ farmers markets etc. I'm really enjoying it but I'm still a little unsure of myself technical wise. I'm hoping this forum will reassure me and give me somewhere to bounce ideas (my family are fed up with me going on and on about soap!!) You all seem a lovely bunch - so I'm very happy to be here.

Good to have you here, I'm up by Loch Lomond but there are a couple of members even closer to you. Arran is such a lovely island....but tell me how do you compete with the mighty AA? I became a Grannie for the first time on the 2nd of June. Can't make my mind up between Grannie Mac or Grannie Island (maybe a bit Katie Morag).
I don't think the mighty AA will be scared of a wee wummin in her kitchen, but I have tried to offer things that they dont. In a small community you don't want to step on any toes.
