I go to all the Beauty trade fairs every year & the odd one in Europe but where & when are the others like Holistic Health, etc.  Does anyone have a list of any others??  I spend most of my time at the beauty shows meeting up with clients & colleagues & socialising so I usually have to attend the 2nd as well just to get some shopping in  ;D

Think Holistic Health was in Donington this year...not sure if that is a regular venue or not...

n if ur in to holistic therapies and products (buying or selling) there's mind, body spirit in London (not sure of month) and Manchester GMEX (every October)...

Beauty wise, I go to Prof Beauty North to have a nosy at trends in products and treatments....just dip in and out...hence avoiding all the beauty girls baloney that often goes on at those events ;)

Holistic Health is indeed always in Donnington Z (I gave a report back on one of the threads on this and Z did the same for Beauty North).  There's the BABTAC Roadshow & there's one in Brighton (Seafront) Holiday Inn Sun 29th-Mon 30th June.  I'm not quite sure when the next big one is - do you ge the trade journals Karen?  I've just scanned the recent H&B but often, ads for that are loose inside (and frequently end up in the recyling bin before I've read them  :-\).  I can't see any details though - sorry

I don't really mean beauty-related ones (I get enough of them) but more cosmetics & natural therapies.   There is one & I can't remember the name of it   :argh: - I get most of the trades free from the editors each month. 

What do you mean "baloney"   :rasp:  I talk "baloney" for a living  ;D

Mi roots are in holistics Karen, plus am a down to earth northener...so through my eyes...a lot of the beauty world is baloney :rasp:

oo oo oo  :yipee:  found it  :yipee:  in a back copy of Todays Therapist, its very good, no fluff, you'll like it Zoe.   Camexpo, I meant to go last year.  I'll take a look on their website.  I'm sticking to shows dahn saahth this year as JoJo puts it  :D all that travelling time gets boring!  I can get to London in 50 mins, sorted!

I am very interested in taking a stall at a trade fair when and if I ever get my business sorted out. I'd like to hear people's opinions and experiences and thoughts on them...please?

Apart from anything trade shows are very expensive to have a stall at and in my experience it takes at least 2 years of attending to get results, this is from talking to exhibitors and attending the BCTF at Harrogate

I got told you absolutely HAVE to do them to get known..  is it worth it after 2 years then?  :'(

Don't know, never been as an exhititor but it is a good way to get known, also shows you are serious about your business. Not sure if you can get start up grants etc for this sort of thing. Might be worth asking.

hmmm, yes they do get your name out there & get people sampling your products & you can get a lot of names & addresses.  But, the largers shows are ultra expensive, its not just the stand you have to lease but the phone line for the cc machine, every light, etc. plus loads of stock for the 2-3 days & hotels, staff, etc.

What will you be selling??

I feel it depends on what level you want to run your business ...exposure is good...but one's marketing arena needs to be relevant to the size and scale of business.....and possibly even related to your confidence and experience of the business world...another thing to bear in mind, is creating a marketing plan which is relevant to your target market
