I'm having a stall at a school Christmas fair this afternoon.  Are they good places to sell?

I've got some little organza bags to pop single bars in (made sure I bought some pink ones - you know what little girls are like!), so I'm hoping there will be lots of teachers receiving soap at the end of term next week!!!

Ups and downs, I'm afraid. Not been so good for me  :(

I find senior schools and private schools to be pretty good, but primary schools don't work for me at all. Hope you have a great event though, the little bags sound great.

I heard too late about the fair at the private school near me - which is a great pity cos apparenly they were tripping over themselves to spend money. One for next year I think  :mwaha:

Hmmm, yes it was a primary school, and not great.  Spoke to some nice people though.

Here's one for you though........"I'm concerned about bacteria growing on the soap"  Anyone heard that one before??

Eh? No, that's a new one on me.

I do have a giggle at the excuses people use not to buy though, esp if they claim to have sensitive skin, and you explain about the soap, they get a bit flumoxed at that and had to layer on the excuses  :mwaha:

Sorry it wasn't a great success. My best customer comment was a fair recently, when I was explaining about my hand treat, I said 'It's made with 100% oils and butters', customer replied 'oh I only ever use margarine'. Completely true and I couldn't respond or I'd have laughed!

People do make weird excuses, I've never heard that one either.

 :mwaha: I know. It's totally maddening!

When I only made bar soap, the favourite excuse was that they only used liquid or shower gel. When I added liquid to the range, amazing how quickly that excuse disappeared. Didn't mean they bought the liquid though  :mwaha:

I've done well at highschools and middle schools, but not as well at an elementary school.  I think it has to do with the way the event is advertised though.
