Hello,
I'm the board's administrator but I prefer to be called Helen (mostly because there are far less letters to type

)
Well, a little bit about myself.... Hmm, where to begin without boring y'all. Well I've been a beauty & holistic therapist practically from leaving school & still maintain my practice with a healthy list of very loyal clients (thanks to them all). I have taught in FE, for about 8 years, across the related therapy spectrum. I have had the pleasure to teach all age groups, from year 10's through mature students in their 60-70's.
Obviously, as an aromatherapist I have created many a essential oil blend but I started to turn my attention towards making cosmetic creams & lotions a few years ago - and love every minute of it although lately, I don't seem get as much time as I used to

.
One of my motivations for making it myself was that fact that I have always had a keen interest in chemistry and was curious as to whether I could recreate some of the products I was using in my practice. Also, I have become increasingly concerned about what goes in to so called 'natural' cosmetics & a few of my clients were also keen for me to try.
Well with a little trial and lots of error, I began to grow in confidence and had some fantastic lab rats (friends, family and, bless them, my clients). Now, many of my so called 'natural' brand name products I use in my practice has been replaced with my NATURAL formulations. I know what goes in them and because I made them, I can talk about them with passion.
However, I do believe that the individual raw ingredients used in the formulations are at the heart of my passion, which is one of the reasons I decided to set up the website. The website not only allows me the excuse to talk about the raw ingredients through the resource center, but allows me the opportunity to learn from others, their experiences of working with and formulating with these raw elements. I really look forward to being part of this community.
Goodness, that was a long intro, I bet I lost most by the second paragraph
