Hi

My name is Mary and I would love to learn how to make soap.  I often buy hand made soap and love using it and displaying it in my bathroom, but now I would like to have a go and see what I could make.  I'm a complete novice and keen to have a go at both CP and melt n pour.
I'm doing a lot of reading and feeling enthusiastic about my new hobby - who knows if I'm any good, I may sell some at craft fairs.

Looking forward to reading through the threads on this site.

Bye for now  butterflies

Welcome Mary  butterflies

Sounds like you have started a new hobby but be warned, it can fast become an addiction.  You are doing the right thing by reading, reading and more reading.  We do like pics so do let us have a peek when you do your first  Grin

There are more boards that you can't see yet but the more you post, the more boards will open up to you   Wink

I hope you enjoy it here and I look forward to chatting with you around the boards  Smiley

Hi Mary  butterflies

Helen is right, soap making is an addiction  Cheesy But a great one. Like you, I had never made a bar of soap before I joined here. Then I started with melt & pour, and now do CP (though I don;t sell that yet). Have a look at the type of soaps you are buying, think about the kind of soaps you'd like to make, do some reading, check the soap show offs on here, LOADS to read on here, and have fun  butterflies

(Oh, and pictures are a must  Wink)

thank you, and I guess it can be addictive  Muttley

I had a lovely present for my Birthday and package arrived full of enough ingredients to make my first soap and a few bottles of soap suitable essential oil and colour.

Love the idea of seeing more boards, hope there are some easy beginner recipes there too.   Thanks for making me welcome.
