Is there a chance that you may eventually start selling Olive Pomace?
I now realise I can get almost everything I need re. my recipe apart from this, and as it plays a big part in my soap making I thought it better to purchase from you rather than anyone else.

was just wondering......

Hi Jane,

I can indeed get pomace however, I am not sure that, at smaller quantities, I can be as competitive as what is sold in supermarkets  Cry  The thing is, if you can get it local it would save you the shipping costs  Undecided  Can you get this in your supermarket do you know?

Thanks Helen, I've just been into A*di. They are selling 500ml for £1.79. This is much cheaper than what I am paying at the moment. My usual supplier prices it at £2.67 for 500ml. What I have tended to do in the past is get everything from one supplier but I now realise it's not as cost effective as I thought because the heavier the weight the more expensive carriage is.

Jane - check the ingredients and make sure it is just olive oil, most pomace ones are blends.

The cheapest place I found it at was Asda - 3 litres pure pomace (their own brand) £7.59

I spotted pomace in Tesco today - pomace oil written all over the tin in huge letters.  It was actually 55% pomace, 45% blended veg oils and an anti foaming agent.  Undecided

JoJo was that the one from KTC ?

I went to ASDA to buy that one and then realized it is a blend. Look for the own brand stuff. I found it on a bottom shelf near the other olive oils

OH got all excited when he saw this, too - called me to ask if I wanted some. I made him check the ingredients and was sadly disappointed.

Then went to a different supermarket, saw this myself and got all excited. I checked the ingredients and was sadly disappointed. OH said that it was the same one he had seen, and I realised why he had got excited himself.

I used to get my pomace from Booth's, which was lovely and cheap, but the branch which used to do it has stopped. The Asda stuff is more expensive, alas.  Cry
