Well not literally but at least I got your attention  Happy Bounce. My friends call me Bek, I stupidly thought I would be able to make soap easily and that I could give L___ a run for their money ! Reality is that now I have down some research, I realise there is more to it such as certification etc. I am still waiting for my suppiles to arrive so as yet I have not even made anything !!!

I have 2 sons and try to be as eco friendly as realistically possible, we have 5 chickens and my husband grows vegetables etc. I would therefore be keen to make bath bombs, soaps etc from natural products - hence where the 'naked' comes in !!!

I look forward to knowing you all, I'm sure I will have many stupid questions to ask !

Stop it JJ, you'll lead her astray  Roll Eyes

Cor blimey....  Got my attention there Bek (thought I may have to get mi moderator cap on  Muttley).

Hey, someone else who has chickens!  So that's now 1, 2, 3....  goodness, I'm beginning to loose count.

I like your enthusiasm to aim high and why not?  I think once you get a feel for what you need to do and had lashings of experimentation time, you'll be well away.  Although I do have to tell you, it's all rather addictive you know.

A big warm welcome from me and I look forward to chatting with you around the boards  Grin

Hello Bek,

Classy intro!

What sort of soap are you thinking of making? There's lots of info in the posts and Resources - unfortunately there isn't a FAQ for the Forum (on the To Do List!

Hi Bek, feel free to run around naked as much as you want.
it's often a misconception that making soap is easy, throw everything together and sell it.
It takes a lot of time and practice to get it right then when you finally get your perfect recipe you then have to get certified.  and you will always be learning something new along the way.

keep a soap from your first few batches and then look at them in a year's time,
notice how much different your bars are in a years time, and also then you will see if your recipe has gone rancid with dreaded orange spots etc.

But we have a wealth of information on here, everyone one here is so helpful and will always help you out if they can.

my suggestion before making products is to read and read and then read some more.
please feel free to ask away though

Hi Bek

I like your style, and know exactly where you're coming from when it comes to naked products!

Unfortunately as a few people have already said, soap (and bath bombs too) can have a mind of it's own at times - so it's loads of fun tempered with moments of sheer frustration (only occasionally  Wink)

anyway welcome, naked girl I think you'll enjoy it here
