Hi everyone!  Hi!

Have to say i am very glad to be here. I am new to everything - soap making, lotions and potions, even forums. I tripped apon your site whilst searching for info on making soaps and thought I would give it a whirl. It is a great site and I love how friendly and helpful everyone is.

To be quite honest I am at the "should I shouldn't I" stage Huh? where I keep making ingredients lists and reading all the books I can get my hands on but  i haven't quiet got to the hands on stage yet. Hopefully that is all about to change.

Anyhoo, a bit about myself I think. I recently moved down from Scotland to the Midlands and married my wonderful husband. I have yet to get to know many people around here so I thought I would start doing all the things that I have always wanted to do. I now have 13 hens and 2 geese (who have just started to lay eggs wow!) and today I just finished building a raised vegetable bed. Next is a herb bed and making some lovely soap and lotions Grin  I'll tell you - my hands could really do with a lovely homemade hand cream right now after all that digging today Smiley

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Debz

Hi Debz, glad you found your way here. I tell ya, once you start making soap, you wont look back, you will be well and truly hooked. And I so envy you your hens and geese!

Hiya Debz
Another Scot! We'll be taking over soon  Grin
Plenty help available here when you decide to dip your big toe into making something. I make CP soap mostly but dabble occasionally in other stuff.
How you liking the Midlands? Where did you move from?
You'll like it here, very friendly (some mad) people  Muttley

Hi Debz   Hi!

I hope you enjoy it here (and yes, some of us are slightly mad before anybody else mentions it).  One teensy word of warning - soap is addictive  Grin
I love the sound of your hens, geese and veg patch too.  Lucky you.

P.S  Corrie beat me to letting you know about the mad people  Muttley

Where are you in the Midlands Debz, there's a few of us in the Middies.

A warm welcome to the forum and go on, you know you wanna, just make something for yourself this weekend (even if its kitchen cupboard stuff).  Luliz is right though, it does become rather addictive indeed.

Thanks for joining us and do join us in the non-cosmeholic board for a giggle or ten  Grin

If Joy thinks she's one of the good girls, there must be a low-flying pig warning on the weather news tonight.

Thanks for the kind welcomes - sounds like I should fit in just fine  Happy Dance

I am living near Coventry now. Really loving it but have to say the lack of hills is taking some getting used to.

As to where in Scotland I am from - well I was born in Stirling and have since lived in Pitlochry, Blairgowrie, Glasgow and Dumfries and then back to Stirling again to study at Stirling Uni. phew! Hopefully I will manage to stick around here for a while  Wink

p.s. I am already getting the strange looks from OH. nothing new there!

Great news about the funny looks already.  Wait 'til you get the glazed look when you start waffling about making stuff.   Works every time.

Hi Debz
Nice to see another newbie at soapmaking like myself, do have a go, I took 6 weeks reading etc & then jumped in & now I make some every week, its great experimenting.
Not envious about the geese, we have some in our local pond & the boogers love to try & peck me so I usually stay in the car whilst the family feed the ducks, I must have geese bait written on my bum!   Undecided
