H i there, Im new to the forum and seeking some advice. I have been making soaps and lotions now for a few months and due to positive feed back would like to sell at craft and farmers markets. The problem is I have tried to get my head around the legal requirements, labeling, chemist testing etc but I have no idea where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..........
Thanks,
Peggy.

Check out cosmetic safety assesments . Hes our resident chemist. Also look in resources theres loads of info there on SA s , insuirance and labelling. Soaps are relativly easuy SAs lotions are a little more complicated.

Hi Peggy, nice to meet you

As the others have said, look around the message board and you should find some info which will help.

Try using the 'search' box on the left and looking through some of the threads there.

Once you know what it is that you don't know, (that sounds totally stupid, hope you KWIM!) then you can ask a specific question and someone may be able to help you.

Enjoy looking around

BTW - you'll notice we're obsessed with photos Muttley

Hi and welcome to the forum  butterflies

I agree wholeheartedly with all of the above.  There are a few hurdles and hoops to jump through but if you are determined, you'll get there  Smiley

Hi Peggy.

If you look at resources there is legal info in there. Then contact Scott who is ever so helpful.

Hello Peggy, welcome to the forum.

When you get to 50 posts you'll be able to see the board about legal issues.

Contact Scott at cosmetic safety safety assesments and he'll walk you through it just like he did for me and many others on the forum.

Hi and welcome, Peggy - I can only reiterate what the others have said about Scott! He is incredibly helpful.

Remember, no question is a silly one - so ask away!

Oh and don't forget to post photos - we need (nay, demand) pix of your creations Grin
